Tell one story, make one point.
I admire people who share everything they know to help educate others. But I cannot help myself listening for too long.
The older I get, the shorter I spend time listening to stories. I have stopped watching movies since my 20s. I slept through the Lion King (2019) and still think it’s one of the best movies I’ve ever watched.
Sometimes we get lost in our story and forgot there is a point to make. It’s so easy to go down the rabbit hole.
In business, there is a story to make. The story helps founders make their point. Crafting a compelling story is the most difficult thing ever because one has to open up about themselves. Their life, profile, experience, skills, expertise, and connection. Each one of them makes up the whole story.
To tell a good story, pick one story, leave the rest for history.
Tell one story, make one point.
